I'm currently the IBM Technical Sales Leader for Cloud Data Services in Europe, based in Germany.
I'm interested in designing innovative solutions with IBM Cloud Data Services, Watson Data Platform, Db2, Data Science Experience, and other cool things.
From 2000 to the end of 2015 I worked at the IBM Silicon Valley Lab in San Jose, California, focusing on database software development, architecture, and performance. My work included areas such as temporal data management in DB2, BLU Acceleration, dashDB, XML, and other topics. During that time I also worked closely with customers and business partners world wide to help them design, optimize, and implement data management solutions.
From 1995 to 1999 I worked at the Technical University of Aachen (Informatik V) in Germany focusing on research in distributed and replicated database performance.
From 1992 to 1999 I supported several Hospitals in Tanzania during their introduction of computer systems to improve hospital administration. This was remote and local work, spending 21 months in Tanzania. (More)
I'm on LinkIn and on Twitter, and I have a blog.
Transaction Processing over XML (TPoX) is an application-level benchmark for XML database systems, and an extensible benchmark toolkit also for relational and other database workloads.
